Katie & Gil’s wedding was one of the most stylish weddings we have ever done.  From their personal attire (seriously, her wedding dress went viral the second a photo of her was posted on Instagram – so gorgeous!) to their bridal party outfitted within a “color scheme” (who all happened to follow it perfectly) made for the most diverse wedding party party photos.  Atypical attire wasn’t the only striking design choices they chose though.  Upon initially speaking with them, and asking the question, “Describe your style,” Katie had one word: Black.

Unless you are going super formal, black is kind of hard to incorporate into a wedding design.  But Katie and Gil had the coolest ideas, and the black linens and black taper candles, paired with copper elements, brown chairs, and seasonal floral, made the whole thing work.  We gave the florist our color scheme and she ran with it.  With little to no guidance, she was able to create floral pieces that truly made the design come to life. 

It’s easy to out a label on things in life, like calling this a “boho wedding” but honestly, there is no label.  It’s just a reflection of the couple.  When you aren’t afraid to let your true style shine through on your wedding day, magic happens.
