Trendy and chic fall wedding!

When I first met with Josie and Reid at Merchants Hall on Market Street in downtown Charleston, our biggest concern was how to seamlessly host the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception for 150 guests all in one space.  After walking through a couple of layout options, we devised a plan for a room flip that went from intimate ceremony to open ballroom.

Lowcountry Entertainment draped Merchants Hall at the halfway beam, so as guests entered up the stairs, the room looked like the most chic, private indoor ceremony. Following the ceremony, the draping panels were pulled back to open the room for cocktail hour.  The ceremony chairs were moved to dinner tables to make way for a station-style dinner and opened up the previous ceremony space for the dance floor.

Salthouse Catering provided delicious dinner stations for guests to enjoy at their leisure throughout the evening. Mike Huhn and his band kept everyone out on the dance floor all night.  A funny anecdote about Josie & Reid’s band: Often times after walking through the venue together, we will sit down with couples to hammer out timeline details and other wedding logistics.  We gathered at 5Church after our walkthrough at Merchants to talk through the flow of the day, and to Josie’s surprise, her band was playing live music at 5Church that evening!! Obviously A SIGN!!!

We wish Reid and Josie all the happiness in the world as they begin their lives as Mr. and Mrs.!
