I can imagine songwriters get hooks stuck in their heads and have to jot them down until the lyrics become a song, or a melody nags at them until they find the words.  I can imagine an artist sees colors and dreams of being able to get the strokes to complete a full picture.  As an event designer, we see spaces and shapes and imagine how we can bring them to life.
For months, I had this idea in my head of bringing together my two favorite twins and creating a high fashion shoot.  I wanted them to play opposites, the “devil and angel” so to speak.  I wanted them to look the same but different, contrasting but complementary.
I didn’t want this to be a styled shoot that included all elements of a wedding like a tablescape or an invitation suite, because this wasn’t a wedding.  I wanted it to reflect wedding fashion and style alone, while highlighting one of our favorite venues in downtown Charleston.
The team behind this dream did not disappoint.  We had the beauty.  The twins were ready for anything.  We had the photographer.  Brian specializes in fashion and portrait shoots so who better?  Ah, the gowns.  Maddison Row South allowed us to go shopping at the boutique to pick our looks with the models.  Such a fun experience!  Not to mention, we chose designer Carol Hannah who’s from Charleston for a nod to our lovely city.  Wild Ivory nailed the looks of bright vs bold, sexy vs glamorous.  And finally, no greater backdrop of elegance could compare to the beauty of the William Aiken house.
I love how these images turned out.  I love knowing personally that these girls are as beautiful on the inside as they are on film.  I don’t care if this shoot never gets featured in a magazine because it’s “too different.”  It turned out exactly as I imagined it, and sometimes seeing that idea come to life is enough.
