Caitlin & Andrew – Creek Club

Caitlin and Andrew are CofC grads who never questioned their wedding would be in Charleston.  It was only fitting that their first look and wedding portraits took place primarily in the spot where they have so much history: The Cistern at College of Charleston.

This wedding day was a classic case where the weather took over and left us with little choice but to be at its mercy.  We had big plans of having the bridal party arrive via a 40 foot boat, dock at Creek Club, and process into the wedding straight from the boat. What a cool idea, right?  But the wake, rain, and freezing temperatures weren’t in our favor and the boat couldn’t sail.  Instead, we moved the ceremony inside the Creek Club in front of the cozy fireplace, and it turned into a blessing in disguise.  The ceremony truly felt like an intimate church service for their 180 guests, and their vows echoed throughout the room.

Caitlin’s design was bold yet understated, incorporating King Protea into her bouquet and bright purple stock that ended up making our ceremony site pop with color. Her wedding cake was the cutest mixture of semi-naked frosting and fresh berries.  Tiger Lily brought a garden feel inside by wrapping the cafe lighting with greenery, bringing the room to life.

Rather than the planned exit via the boat, we hooked these two up with a Maserati getaway car to take them downtown to their hotel.  All in all, this was an amazing party and one that we will not soon forget!
